2010 Goals... later!

Wow! I can't believe we're three weeks into the new year! I was faithful to write down a rough draft of my "Twenty Ten" goals and aspirations on a spiral notebook journal, but as far as getting them fine tuned and on this blog, well that's another story! I hope do so in the next couple weeks (not that anyone checks this blog or cares), but for myself as a way to be totally committed, accountable, and excited about them. I love to check back on myself to see how I'm doing. Last year I bit off more than I could chew in the goal category. This year I have a list of under twenty specific goals (not 180!).

I've been SO BUSY these past three weeks~ in the process of moving~ that my computer time has really been cut down. It's all good and I can't wait to share my goals. I am determined to have much Victory in meeting ALL my goals this year...

More later~

2009 in Review

As I look back at my AMBITIOUS list of 180 goals in 365 for 2009 (CLICK HERE), I have a sense of bitter-sweet... failure mixed with success. Many of the GOALS I completed and marked off the list; many I completed and didn't get to the list to mark off; many more I started and continue to be in progress even to this day; and, even more I simply thought about through the year and never got around to even starting. I try not to beat myself up about those I never started and remind myself I'm certainly NOT superwoman even though I sometimes try to be.

As I review this past year, I realize I set myself up for failure with such a HUGE list of goals- 180??? What was I thinking? It was around May/June time frame I began to feel bondage to my goals and dreams rather than the challenge and excitement they initially brought of visualizing them all being completed in perfect time when I made them at the beginning of the year.

As the year progressed, and July-December hit, the entire second half of the year was filled with one unexpected situation after another. I became easily distracted by life's unforeseen events... my sister and niece moving to Texas and living with us at end of July... helping my sister and niece find a place to live in August... selling our house in September... buying a different house October... my niece (who moved to TX) passing away in a car accident in November... falling into a funk feeling overwhelmed in December.

All and all, I remain thankful, because the Lord continued to show Himself in my life and teach me through these times. He grew me in my faith even though I wasn't marking off my "list of goals", and that's what my goals and dreams are really all about... HIM, not me. I regret nothing about 2009, and am thankful for all I've learned.

For 2010, I have many of the same dreams and goals, for I know God has planted them in my heart. This year, however, I will make my goals and dreams more manageable and doable, so I can enjoy success and victory and not burden and bondage.
