2011 GOALS~

I am so excited for 2011... a new year... a fresh start! 2010 was full of many victories, but just as many defeats. I failed in several areas of my 2010 goals and plan to make positive changes in 2011. The biggest and most important change is a re-focus on my relationship with Christ. Although I have maintained a steadfast love for God, I allowed my busy schedule of 2010 to crowd out my time with God. As a result, I was left feeling overwhelmed, scattered, and depressed. I ended the year feeling insecure and "stuck"; when I live in my own power- doing things my way in my strength, I will always fail. 2011 WILL BE different- better! I claim this in the supernatural power of God.

THIS YEARS THEME: "GIVING" PERSONAL FOCUS: CENTERED ON GOD / HAVE A BALANCED LIFE

GOALS:

  • Give GOD my year. What this means to me is seeking God and bringing Him honor in my everyday. I will do this in the following goals:

  • Focus on overall health (Spiritual, Emotional, and Physical)- take care of my body through better eating habits, exercise and more personal balance.

  • Participate in the 2011 SSMT Challenge at the LPM Blog with fellow Siestas (memorizing Bible verses twice a month). IN PROGRESS

  • Participate in at least one Bible study. "Nurture" by Lisa Bevere

  • Give regular time to God's word and prayer. (doing the best I can)

  • Learn something new! I'm thinking about learning to make my own solar panels for electricity to power some lights outside our landscape (for starters)... ?

  • Give FAMILY more time and priority. What this means to me is to change my tendency to put others in my circle as a higher priority than my own family. This past year I struggled with being a "people pleaser", serving in a volunteer position that pulled me more away from family commitments than I cared to be. Although the volunteer position was a good thing, my season this year is to let it go and refocus on FAMILY. I will do this in the following goals:

  • After this years commitment is over in May, let go of leading Girl Scout Troop for the duration of the year.

  • Work on Home Renovation to make our fixer upper house our HOME. (Visit my HOME RENOVATION BLOG for updates) IN PROGRESS!!!!

  • Organize family photos (on computer in files/back up on CD's).

  • Give time to sending family pictures (hard copies) to grandparents (out of town) once every couple of months.

  • Give FRIENDS tangible encouragement when opportunity arises. What this means to me is put immediate action into my thoughts and words. When I recognize a friend that needs a kind word or acknowledgment, I will give it- not just think about it which I usually don't follow through on, but actually DOING IT then and there. A kind word is often the best gift friends can give each other.

  • Write more Thank You notes when applicable

  • Send random cards of encouragement (out of the blue kind that get sent through USPS-not email.)

  • Send random encouragement to my Facebook friends who least expect it. IN PROGRESS

  • Take a local CCTX friend to lunch every couple of months.

  • Give THANKS in all circumstances (for this is God's will for me in Christ Jesus)! (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

2011 PRAYER: "You crown the year with your goodness, and richness overflows wherever you are"- Psalm 65:11 (GW) Thank you Lord for who you are and for being my everything! I commit this year to you, to your will and to your purposes. Help me to keep you at the center of my everyday to that all honor be yours. In your holy name, Jesus, I pray. AMEN
